If you choose to erase your graphite drawing marks do it as soon as possible. Graphite soaks into the fibers when wet. Also, remember graphite is on the surface. Upon that surface are your layers of paint covering your marks. To erase you will affect the layers of paint.
When erasing marks on watercolor paper you must be Very Careful!
Damaging or scratching the surface of the paper will often cause paint to darken. To remove or lighten a mark, use the least abrasive eraser first!
